We prefer the term Hard Right rather than Far Right.

Hard Right conveys that there is a hard line, which we represent.  I think it fairly represents the III & RTC Communities, and a significant number of real Tea Party folks...not those who have permitted the Republicans to bring them effortlessly into the fold without pre-conditions.

There is chatter on the Hard Right about this very topic, the reality that the Tea Party has permitted themselves to stand shoulder to shoulder with Establishment Republicans.  Folks on the Hard Right are not amused, pleased, or particularly feeling generous toward that segment of the Tea Party.

Many, too many, are already dismissing the entire movement and sniping at folks who claim the Tea Party brand.  We have noted on this site in columns that there is no Tea Party candidate today running on the rhetoric that is preferred by real Tea Party folks.  No one is demanding the evisceration of federal Entitlements.  No one is calling for the immediate repeal of all gun laws that infringe.  No one is calling for any charges of Treason for Foreclosuregate, the bailouts, et cetera.

Concerned American over at Western Rifle Shooters uses the phrase polygonal battlespace in our particular bit of the blogosphere, and I will use it because it is the perfect articulation of the threats and challenges faced by Patriots in our efforts to return to our Founding Principles...whatever that may mean to you.

One aspect of the polygonal battlespace is political.  To be sure, if you wish to see America restored without violence, it is within the political realm that the paradigm must shift most immediately and fundamentally.  Our politics, given to us through our Founding Documents by our Founders and Framers, is a system in which we may use ballots instead of bullets to live among one another.  Wisely, understanding human nature as they did, our Founders and Framers recognized, in writing, that the use of ballots did not forever negate our right to bullets.  But I think we can all agree that if we are able to live amicably and prosperously without resorting to violence, that is the preferred methodology.

It is a simple reality of our politics that any President that we elect will, absolutely, need the votes of political moderates, those so-called Independents.  There are simply not enough Republican or Democrat voters to elect a President along party lines.  As a result, any candidate must moderate their rhetoric while campaigning so as to not alienate that important middle voter.

In many of our races for the US Senate & Governorships, the same realities obtain.  Not all, but most.  There are a few such seats that can reliably be won on party line votes.  So as we watch candidates challenge one another for important seats, we will, by necessity, bear witness to an inauthentic moderation of rhetoric by design.

Given these political realities, should we be surprised that those candidates running on the Tea Party brand have moderated their rhetoric as they moved from their Primaries to the General races?  Of course not.

For many people on the Right, including the Hard Right, it was love at first sight for Sarah Palin. We liked the way she lived, hunting and fishing and snowmobiling.  She was immediately recognized as one of us.  Without question, her introduction to the American public by her McCain handlers was an absolute Cluster Foxtrot, and that she managed to survive at all indicates that there is something under the hood.

Don't retreat, reload!

Remember that?  What other politician has the grit to say such a thing in this politically correct nightmare that has become our beloved republic?

Before your eyes glaze over and you leave, thinking I am going to solicit your vote for Sarah...nope.  An article title over at Politico today made my skin crawl: Palin quotes Lincoln in Defense of Beck.

Yeah.  Even if she is playing to the center, it's hard to watch.  Most readers know my thoughts of Lincoln: He deserves an aluminum cot in an iron room next to the furnace in Hell.  Any so-called Patriot (Beck) who pays homage to Lincoln is on the Watch List.

Our point: We of the Hard Right should temper our righteous indignation toward those few Politicians who are genuinely right-of-center, especially when they must play political games to achieve a seat at the table.  Let's not beat them up before they even get elected.  Once they are in office, if they betray their Tea Party brand, they earn our wrath.  But until then, we must fight the urge to form circular firing squads. 

Even if a Tea Party branded politician makes it to office, yet they do not meet your expectations, try to remember that it could be worse.  It could be a RINO, or a Dem, or a Liberal.

One reality that seems to be missed by many on the Hard Right who are throwing their hands up regarding this topic is this: We must choose from the politicians in the ring.  Of those politicians for whom one can vote, choose the one that most represents your positions. 

And instead of condemning Sarah or Christine or Rand for not being Tea Party enough, ask yourself why there is not a candidate more to your liking in the mix?  Why aren't some of your favorite Hard Right bloggers on the ballot?  Why isn't Stossel or the Judge on the ballot?  Rather than condemning a limited selection of candidates, go to work for someone for whom you'd be proud to vote.

But the most important facet of this discussion is to remember that this is a polygonal battlespace.  Politics alone will not decide the victor.  But politics will be an important facet, even if some our worst scenarios come to pass.  It will matter who sits in the White House in an economic collapse.  It will matter who your Senator and Governor are if the Federal Government suddenly becomes moot.

Choose the most-Right candidate you can choose, and focus on the other aspects of your preparations.

The worst that can happen...we elect Sarah and it turns out that she is not the next Jefferson. 

At least her policies, compared to any Democrat running against her, will serve as a delaying action, slowing the rate of decay and give us a few more hours/days/months to prepare.

How is that not only a degree or two removed from a pistol to the head? We are undeniably heading toward the same tyrannies known to Russians, Germans, and the Chinese.  It starts with Liberalism, advances to Socialism, and ends with Fascism, Communism, or some other tyranny…and death.

Excerpt: We have a culture of people whose first response to a physical threat is to dial 911, or worse, a lawyer.  We have a nation of people who will dump hot coffee on themselves, then sue the restaurant – and win!  We have a nation of educators who suspend children for drawing a picture of a handgun or for bringing a Boy Scout knife-and-fork kit to show and tell! 

We have a nation of people so removed from the food chain that many would starve to death if the local supermarket closed.  We have a nation of people who cannot truly grasp the hardships faced by most of the people in the world every day, and as a result we have a nation of people who have lost fundamental common sense.

Excerpt: The Bill of Rights articulates the natural rights of man, rights that are not bestowed by government, but rights that are innately ours as human beings.  These rights may not be taken from us.  These rights were written in plain language so that no clever interpretation and manipulation of the intent was possible.  These rights may not be restricted, narrowed, or infringed.  Any attempt to do so is a violation of the relationship between Man and Creator. 

Every narrowing, restriction, infringement, and clever interpretation imposed upon us in the years since our Constitution was ratified is simply a violation of our natural rights.

We hold that every violation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights by those in Government is an act of Treason, as these violations are unjust, undermining the fundamental foundations of our republic, breaking the pact between citizen and government, and desecrating the relationship between Man and Creator.  Any man or woman who enforces these unconstitutional laws on behalf of government is a treasonous soul and an enemy of Liberty and humanity.
