Only time will tell if those new politicians that we are sending to Washington and our local offices will begin to turn the battleship, or even try. Obviously, any Tea Party candidate who compromises or trades votes in the spirit of cooperation has been lost to the cause.

Ours is a republic. We have delegated tasks to those who will represent us for the next political cycle, now let them do their thing. We shall see...

Your reality has not changed, nor will it change in the immediate future. You have chores.

Considering the polygonal battlespace, our attention has been on the political realm recently. Now it is time to shift focus back to the other fronts of this relentless attack that moves upon us from all directions. Ideally, you did not permit politics to consume all of your energy over these past few weeks and months. To survive a multidimensional conflict, you must keep your head on a swivel and your mind processing on several levels at the same time.

If the elections have demonstrated anything to us, it should be a rising foreboding that the economic stresses challenging the nation will find no relief from the Political Class. It is likely beyond their control, even if they chose to take real action. Keep an eye on Denninger for the latest real information.

The only action available to Washington that would make an immediate difference in our economic reality will not be taken until a collapse. The fix is to immediately stop spending on every extra-Constitutional agency and program, cold turkey.

They will not do it until the facade of civilization has been ripped away. So be it.

Remember the basics. If the SHTF, you will need: Defense, Water, Shelter, Food, Warmth and Medicine. These are the basics, our sine qua non. Electricity would be very nice.

Offensive capability should be built into your lifestyle. Often, the line between offense & defense is muddled, and a strong moral argument can be made for many actions that, on their face, might appear to be gratuitous aggression and beyond the scope of defense.

Most readers of this column are well read in TEOTWAWKI matters, so I will not explore them deeply, but for offense & defense.

Obviously, your budget is the prime consideration and limiting factor as you prepare. While every Patriot would be well served with a Steyr SSG 08 across the back for any urban ruckus, the reality is that dropping $6,000 on a rifle, before optics and spare parts, ammo and magazines is beyond reach for many folks.

The reality is also that such a rifle would be imprudent for many folks as they design their battle kits for practical reasons that go beyond the financial.

Before you spend a single dollar on preparations you must realistically assess your environment, and consider the most likely circumstances that will confront you, or your family, or your Tribe.

For instance, if you conclude that the likelihood is 90% or greater that you will bug-out of your inner city condo within

24 hours of it, then buying and storing your entire rice stockpile in the condo isn't the best plan.

Likewise, if part of your contingency plan revolves around a cabin in the hills, and you don't own a 4x4...

Most of you are already beyond these considerations, having thought about the most likely challenges you may face, as well as the realistic limitations of budget and other relevant circumstances. But, if you have not, then take some time and survey the landscape of our little piece of the world, and your place in it.

What are the most likely events that may lead you to action? How do you plan to participate? Will you be a Ninja Patriot leaving home & hearth to the wife and kids as you go hunting for Restoration? Will you draw the line at your doorstep, and engage in a fight only when they come to your home? Will you pack up and head for the hills?

If you do not answer these basics, honestly, you can not be prepared when the balloon goes up. Such matters must not be simple mental diversionary escapes for you from the cube in which you are working 9-5. These are serious matters, and if not given proper consideration, you and yours will become fodder for the worms, the buzzards, or the animals who will become Masters.

Of course, there are variables that will determine which course one may take. If X happens, then Y is the proper response. But, if Z happens, then Y2 is the proper course. But if you have not identified and defined the battlespace and the potential variables, you can not respond prudently. This is a mental exercise, and fortunately, most preparations will overlap, so there will be very minimal wasting of resources.

Example: No matter what happens, the ability to fill your hands with a strong, reliable battle knife is fundamental. Whether circumstances demand contingency Y or Y2, your knife is essential. If you start from a well thought-out premise, waste and redundancy will be minimal.

If you have not yet done a thorough analysis, take pause and begin now. Even if you have already gathered many preparations and tools, revisiting the ever-changing battlespace is prudent.

Today the most likely cause of it is an economic collapse.

Any such collapse will be swiftly followed by a heavy-handed response by Government.

Count on it.

Economic collapse, by definition, ensures a major disruption of just-in-time supply lines. Shelves at the stores will empty, and prices will skyrocket. Banks will shutter, and if you do manage to get any of your paper from within their vault, it will be essentially useless.

Use these criteria as a starting point, and ponder the essentials today. See where your thinking takes you.

Let another part of your brain begin working on this combat tip: Never discount the value of fire in a fight for your life. How can you make it, how can you direct it, how can you kill your enemies with it?

They really don't care if you are stocking up on rice and beans, even rifles and bullets. They don't care if you call them names or incite a few misdemeanors or send them snarky little letters. If you are trying to get their attention and you have not yet caught a Federal case, it's still amateur hour...or maybe you are valuable to them...

It's when you start to have an impact on the flow of dollars that you will earn real interest. Write a report that negatively impacts the stock value of a few Fortune 50 companies, and you will soon have a genuine understanding of the term Lawfare.

Truth, Justice & the American Way?

Not so much.

The DOJ conviction rate is 95% in a bad year, and pushes above 98% according to some stats. The deck is not only stacked in their favor, they own the deck. And the card table. And the casino. Do you understand?

Can you name any Federal bureaucracy that runs at a minimum 95% efficiency rate? What does that tell you?

Do not make the mistake of thinking that you intimidate them just because they have not yet chosen to come for you...

The Point: If you are trying to incite Big Brother to notice you, go for it! But, man up and roll bigger dice.

If you would prefer to make your preparations for it with relative impunity, just go about your business and avoid taking actions that will make it easy for Them to take you out of play, and do not give them a reason to take you out of play. Don't telegraph about the details of your preparations or defensive measures. Don't put a pistol in your belt, against your local laws, unless you are willing to use it when LEO spots you in the convenience store. Avoid gratuitous violence.

Do not draw hyperbolic lines in the sand. When you draw lines in the sand that you do not defend, it reveals you for what you are deep in your Soul...and some of that bad energy splatters on us, too.

There will be plenty of opportunities for a fight, if you want one, soon enough. Be smart, stay off the radar, so that any fight you engage will be on your terms.

Current political leaders are only the face of the problem confronting America today. The underlying cancer eating the American Soul is Liberalism. But for your Liberal neighbors, Liberal politicians would never be elected to office.
