Are you on a Government list?

When it happens, whatever it may be, do you expect to be one of the first Patriots visited by Team Tyranny for a seat on the buses heading to the camps?

Depending on the national SitRep, the first engagements will be the most difficult for Patriots to recognize as a coordinated move by Government.  If there is no precursor that puts Patriots on a heightened state of alert, it is likely most Patriots won't see it coming.  It will just be another day.  Kids go to school.  Parents go to work.  Chores are typical.

Then LEO kicks in the door with a full tactical sweep at 4am.  Or, even worse, the Patriot is approached by a single officer out in the world somewhere far from his Go Bag.  The nice officer simply greets you with the muzzle of his weapon and tells you to be cool while others swarm from hidey spots. 

The worst scenario involves getting a phone call from the local LEO shop on your cell phone.  Officer Friendly explains that your wife and kids have come for a comfortable visit, and you should join them all.

Make no mistake, it will be LEO who comes for you during the first wave.  He may be in uniform, or plainclothes.  He may even be a mercenary under Government contract.  No matter the details, he will come under the color of law, with paperwork in order, in force, and with safety off.

During Katrina it was the first wave of firearm confiscations that were the most successful, because folks had not yet received the memo.  In the III Community, once it is known that Government is making a move, everyone will be on alert and the game of confiscations gets exponentially more ugly.

There are certain skill-sets in which every Patriot should strive to achieve a level of proficiency.  There are uncountable variables along the spectrum of SHTF & TEOTWAWKI scenarios.  But there are fundamental skills that will serve the Patriot well and help prepare for the ugly possibilities in the world.  Many skill-sets require considerable time and energy commitments to attain proficiency.  Decide your timeline and invest your resources, whether time, energy, money or other, accordingly.

Liberty is yours from birth.  You are the only human being ultimately responsible for maintaining your Liberty.  If you die enslaved, it is your fault.

The most important facet of survival is your common sense and judgment.  Just because you have a slick and tricked out 1911 or black rifle doesn't mean you should employ either inappropriately.  Begin to incorporate a higher state of awareness to your everyday routine.  Also, begin to incorporate a higher state of preparedness, be ready to counter LEO even when in the most inconvenient environs.

Should you begin to carry your pistol concealed even though you do not have a permit?  That's your call, not mine.  One consideration: When you are in line at the convenience store and the astute beat cop spots the bulge and begins to make his move, if you are not prepared to kill him and move on you'd better be prepared for years in prison.  One or the other will happen...even if your LEO is an Oath Keeper.  Then you'd better be ready to live the rest of your life as a hunted man. You must operate on the assumption that video and witnesses will ensure that LEO will hunt you until you are dead.

CQB:  When in close quarters with bad guys who intend to have your submission, you will be faced with two immediate choices: Fight, or Submit.

If you choose to fight you will be armed or unarmed.

Unarmed: If you have decided to invest years to learning unarmed combat and you can afford the time, I strongly recommend a foundation of Aikijutsu with a strong dose of BJJ (Though I prefer GJJ).  LEO likes to swarm, grab and tackle.  Aiki will help you defend swarms and grabs, and GJJ will help you kill from the ground where you will often find yourself in a real fight.

If you are looking for more immediate results and feel time is against you, find a Krav Maga class in your area.  Six months of serious Krav Maga work will leave you better prepared for the realities of physical combat than 95% of your Countrymen.

The true key to unarmed combat is to reconcile yourself to the fact that it is messy, close and hard work.  Get used to being grabbed and making contact.  You will get punched and kicked in a real fight.  Take your first hits in a good Krav or BJJ/GJJ class so that when it happens in real life, you'll have been there and done that.

If you go for BJJ/GJJ do not be afraid to explain to your instructor that you want to focus on finishing holds for the first 3 months. (Aiki dojos will not be interested in this approach).  These are the chokes and locks you can use to break and kill an enemy.  Once you have a decent arsenal of fight-ending techniques, you can begin to fill in the blanks with escapes and maneuvers.  Even if you train in Krav Maga, there is no substitute for the raw reality you will learn in a groundfighting class.

Blades: Every Patriot should own at least two serious knives.  A three or four inch folding knife should always, always be just inches from your grasp.  Do not underestimate the lethal potential of a dedicated man and his folder.  Get close and slice.  Get close and drive it into eyes, ears or any other vulnerable spot that your enemy presents.  The key is to get close and be rid of any inhibitions. 

Do not put your folder in a pocket!  That knife is useless to you when you unexpectedly find yourself beneath a 240 pound bad guy intent on cuffing or killing you.  Make sure you can get to the blade and deploy it with one hand.

A real combat knife should be with your gear.

Handguns: Become proficient at hitting a pie plate at 25 feet with your chosen caliber.  If you are just starting out, begin by using a Ruger or Browning .22 and work up to your preferred caliber.  Note: If you never "graduate" to a caliber beyond the .22, don't think yourself vulnerable.  Learn to put that .22 slug where you want it, and you will be a formidable adversary.

Pie plates = head shots.  Body armor is an obstacle.  Remember, there are only 3 targets that ensure an immediate end of forward motion to an advancing enemy: Brain, spine, femur.  A brain shot will turn the lights off 99 out of 100 times, allowing you to engage the next target.

A spine shot will always result in an enemy who drops immediately.  But, depending on where he is hit, he may still be able to pull a trigger.  The same obtains with a femur that gets busted by a bullet.  The leg will not work, and the enemy will go down.  But he can still pull his trigger, so an immediate double-tap to the head is a requisite if you put your target down with a spine or femur shot.

Become proficient at engaging targets out to 25 feet in poor light conditions.  Learn to use cover, and think about what is good cover in your home.  Drywall will not even slow down LEO's lead.

CQB is ugly business.  Unless you get dead in the opening moments you can expect a few up-close and very personal experiences.  In the real world CQB engagements become bloody, sweaty struggles.  Handguns can run empty with no time for reloads and suddenly you have to pull a blade or beat the enemy to death.

How is that not only a degree or two removed from a pistol to the head? We are undeniably heading toward the same tyrannies known to Russians, Germans, and the Chinese.  It starts with Liberalism, advances to Socialism, and ends with Fascism, Communism, or some other tyranny…and death.

Excerpt: We have a culture of people whose first response to a physical threat is to dial 911, or worse, a lawyer.  We have a nation of people who will dump hot coffee on themselves, then sue the restaurant – and win!  We have a nation of educators who suspend children for drawing a picture of a handgun or for bringing a Boy Scout knife-and-fork kit to show and tell! 

We have a nation of people so removed from the food chain that many would starve to death if the local supermarket closed.  We have a nation of people who cannot truly grasp the hardships faced by most of the people in the world every day, and as a result we have a nation of people who have lost fundamental common sense.

Jus ad bellum: There is a moral obligation on the part of any Patriot who decides to engage in violence, before you cross the Rubicon and plunge yourself and perhaps your republic into the horrors of civil war.  Killing an enemy is always just and proper in the face of an existential threat.  Whether the Liberal comes to your home to kill you, or sends armed Government thugs to kill you, or to interfere with your ability to provide for your family, he poses the same existential threat to you and your family as does the liberal who pulled that lever in the voting booth.  Dead is dead, whether by violence or poverty and starvation caused by Liberal policies, and both are morally sound justifications for war.
