Let's change gears for a moment.  The economy is rough, and you may need income.  Maybe you are ok, but you know someone who needs a way to help feed the family.

I hope this helps you or someone you know:

When I was seven I won the sales contest at the Potomac VFW.  The VFW printed up calendars with cute covers, they were the size of a checkbook.  We went door-to-door and sold the calendars as a fund-raising source.  I sold hundreds, and won.  Of course, I was cute and charming.  It helped.

Beginning the same year I made hundreds of dollars (at $10 per driveway) shoveling snow in my neighborhood, and cutting grass in the summer.  When I started a real job at 18, I advanced rapidly in technical skills and customer service - because I wanted it. In my first year, I out-sold every other technician on staff, and received a bonus at Christmas (which matched my cumulative commission for the year) and was able to buy my first truck on Christmas Eve.

See, I needed money.  As a kid I liked baseball and football cards and cherry slush puppies (similar to a slurpee).  As I got older, I liked girls, boats, 4x4's and boom sticks.  All of my likes required money, so I had to earn.

I have always had an entrepreneurial disposition, and it continues today.  Here is an interesting bit of human nature I have experienced as an employer: There is a vast portion of our population that will simply not work hard to get ahead.  Once (some) people hit a certain comfort level, they simply won't work for more.  They are willing to coast.

Three years ago I employed two dozen people in the DC suburbs in a technical service company.  I was horribly disappointed at the level of effort today's 18-30 year old folks are willing to put into their jobs.  Today, they all work for someone else, because I can't be bothered with people who choose not to succeed.

In another business (media related), we decided to hire a sales staff for a specific venture: a lifestyle magazine.

Sales people in the DC area want a minimum $52k base, with health insurance and a 10-20% commission rate before they sell the first widget.  And I'm not talking about seasoned professionals with a track record of 7-figure sales.  I'm talking about the young college grad with little or no experience with the products you are offering or the real world.

Do you have any idea of the effort a person is willing to invest when they start with a $52k base?

I do.

I hired five professionals with experience in media sales (and one young college grad without media experience) during the same week to push a particular magazine we were publishing at the time, gave them the base they requested, fuel allowance, and all the resources they would need to earn - seriously - a very easy and BIG six-figure income.  All they had to do was get out there and put the product in the face of businessmen.  I know the product and pricing worked, because I tested it myself.

The DC Metro area is such that there are tens-of-thousands of businesses, most of which advertise constantly.  Our city and suburbs are arranged so that a sales rep can visit hundreds of businesses a day, on foot.

What I got, after 2 months of carrying these professionals on my payroll, was a raft of excuses.  Mind you, I hired people with established careers.  They had lists of clients from when they sold Yellow Pages ad space, radio spots, magazine ad space, newspapers, web, et cetera.  To a person, I found they would spend a few hours each day giving the barest effort to setting up appointments.

Collectively, they moved about $50k of ad space over 2 months. (That is abysmal)  Most of that was accomplished by the one young guy who had never sold anything but door-to-door pest services - but he wanted it.  The others failed because they did not try.  I made it too comfortable for them. 

My mistake.  I learned.  Now, if I decide to give a person a shot to work for me selling a product, they get a straight commission.  If you sell, you get paid.  No sale, no eat.

One of the most successful HVAC companies in America was down in Texas.  The owner succeeded, believe it or not, by going door to door and selling HVAC systems and services like a vacuum cleaner salesman.  Every day, he'd go knock on doors.  Can you imagine how many times he heard "No thanks" or had doors slammed in his face?  But he went out every day, and it added up.  He retired a very wealthy man.

Most of the wealthiest people in the world sell stuff.  Insurance and real estate are the big ticket items, but, ultimately, whatever you do for a living, sales is involved, somewhere in the business model.  Even if you are a World Class bio-researcher, sales is involved: Because whoever is underwriting your research is looking ahead, hoping to have a product to sell as a result of your work.

Real sales is not the smarmy, fast talking garbage spewed by the stereotypical used car sales slug in plaid from the 70's.  Smart sales involves a soft approach, simply letting folks know that you have X product to offer. If they want it or need it, they will buy it.

You give your business card or promotional piece to as many people as possible, and you never try to sell anything on the first contact.  If you are a decent human being, the sales will take care of themselves.

It is a numbers game, pure and simple.  There is a certain number of people, at any given moment, who want or need a particular product or service.  The key to sales success is simply being in their orbit when they want or need your product or service.  If your sales rate is 1%, and you need to move 10 units per day, you must expose your product to 1,000 people each day.

Are you unemployed, or under-employed?  Surely you have a skill worthy of marketing, even if it is simply shoveling a sidewalk for $20.  Decide what you can do, and then go and meet every single homeowner and business owner in your AO.  You can buy 10,000 first class business cards from for less than $100. (I buy quite a bit from and I can endorse their work.)

Here is a business model that I know works, and anyone can do it with zero start-up cost and immediate income.

If you need money to feed your family, here it is:

Go to local businesses and meet the manager or owner.  Offer to take 5,000 of their business cards or sales flyers and hand deliver them to 5,000 households in the area.  Pick a nice neighborhood, so the merchants are reaching the best demographic.

Charge $188 for your service.  (For most businesses, $188 is throw-away money)  If you get 10 businesses aboard, you gross $1,880.  You can walk to 5,000 homes in 2-3 days, depending on the neighborhood.  If it is a townhouse development, you can get it done in a day.

You put your 10 ads in an envelope or plastic newspaper bag, and knock on every door.  If anyone is home, smile and hand them the envelope.  If they are not home, leave the envelope in the door (not the mailbox - Big Uncle has a problem with that).

You can fine tune your business.  Tell your customers to give only business cards, or only 4x9 postcards, et cetera, so that when you hand it to a resident, they are receiving a tidy little package.  You can buy nice envelopes, and if you have a few bucks for start-up, you can even have the envelopes pre-printed with your company name to build your Brand.

You can tell your customers to have special postcards printed, offering a coupon or discount that is not available anywhere else.  That way the business will know that your efforts are effective, as the customer comes in with the coupon that only you were delivering.

Why would a business owner do it? 

It does not matter what the economy is like: Businesses that do not advertise will die. Advertising is simple arithmetic.  For him to mail 5,000 postcards at First Class rates is $2,200.  Even if he uses the bulk mail process, his best rate will be $.17 per piece.  That is $850.  You only charge $188 - it is a no-brainer.

You can also explain to the business owner that with your service, the homeowner will pay special attention to his piece.  How many postcards does the mailman deliver every day?  Most of us simply throw them all away.  The message is lost in the junk.  Your service hand delivers his message, and you limit your package to only a few advertisers, so he isn't simply one voice in a big stack.

The key is to get out and get it done. 

Get a haircut.  Shave.  You do not need a suit to meet a business owner - you need sincerity and a good offer.  Businessmen look at the bottom line.  He'll want to know that you deliver the pieces, rather than just dumping them in a trash can.  So, tell him exactly which neighborhoods you will service.  He probably has a friend, relative or customer he can contact next week to verify delivery.

When you go door-to-door, dress nicely.  Jeans work, with a nice button-down shirt and a nice top coat.  Harriet Homeowner is not really interested in opening the door for Mr. Scruffy on her front step.

I promise this works.  Your mileage may vary, for obvious reasons.  If you live in a small town or rural area, the demographics are difficult to overcome.  Fiddle with your numbers.  If you decide to include 10 advertisers and you charge $198 instead of $188, you have increased your net profit margin by $100 for the same amount of work.  Charge less if you must.

The most time consuming aspect is stuffing 5,000 envelopes with all the ad slicks.  Get the kids involved.

Think about it.

Instead of hoping to be the one person hired out of hundreds of applicants for one of the few dead-end jobs out there - take your future in your own hands and get to work!




III Percent Patriots



Excerpt: There comes a time when civility is no longer appropriate as the only option on the table.  Dare we not offend the sensibilities of Liberals, Socialists, and Communists in our midst who are ruining and destroying our republic?  Are we to cower and sheepishly genuflect when we are scolded for the tone or choice of our words in the face of ruin, poverty, tyranny, and death?!

Are we so frightened of chastisement from insignificant men and women of the political Left with stained and darkened souls that we turn from our duties of Patriotism and shun our sacred obligation to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America?  We ask you, is not our republic worth the risk of being castigated?  Is the soul of our mighty nation no longer worthy of our fortunes, our lives, and our Sacred Honor?  Have we lost so much of our heritage, our courage, our mettle, and grit that we will stand idly by and permit the foolish and the stupid, who work hand-in-hand with evil people in our nation, that we will permit them to send us into eternal slavery and tyranny as the world has never before witnessed?

Excerpt: You are a fool if you do not believe that elements of the Left would use force, if they could, to compel you to comply with many of their edicts.  In drafting healthcare reform, they use the threat of financial fines, felony conviction and prison if you refuse to buy health insurance! 

How is that not only a degree or two removed from a pistol to the head? We are undeniably heading toward the same tyrannies known to Russians, Germans, and the Chinese.  It starts with Liberalism, advances to Socialism, and ends with Fascism, Communism, or some other tyranny…and death.

Excerpt: We have a culture of people whose first response to a physical threat is to dial 911, or worse, a lawyer.  We have a nation of people who will dump hot coffee on themselves, then sue the restaurant – and win!  We have a nation of educators who suspend children for drawing a picture of a handgun or for bringing a Boy Scout knife-and-fork kit to show and tell! 

We have a nation of people so removed from the food chain that many would starve to death if the local supermarket closed.  We have a nation of people who cannot truly grasp the hardships faced by most of the people in the world every day, and as a result we have a nation of people who have lost fundamental common sense.

Excerpt: The Bill of Rights articulates the natural rights of man, rights that are not bestowed by government, but rights that are innately ours as human beings.  These rights may not be taken from us.  These rights were written in plain language so that no clever interpretation and manipulation of the intent was possible.  These rights may not be restricted, narrowed, or infringed.  Any attempt to do so is a violation of the relationship between Man and Creator. 

Every narrowing, restriction, infringement, and clever interpretation imposed upon us in the years since our Constitution was ratified is simply a violation of our natural rights.

We hold that every violation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights by those in Government is an act of Treason, as these violations are unjust, undermining the fundamental foundations of our republic, breaking the pact between citizen and government, and desecrating the relationship between Man and Creator.  Any man or woman who enforces these unconstitutional laws on behalf of government is a treasonous soul and an enemy of Liberty and humanity.

Try not to make it to the Big League before it begins.

How do you know when you have made the Bigs?

You catch a Federal case.

When you earn real attention from our Masters, you'll know it...usually after it is too late.  Our Masters will tolerate quite a bit from folks, even Patriots who are rabble-rousing.  They really don't care if you are stocking up on rice and beans, even rifles and bullets.  They don't care if you call them names or incite a few misdemeanors or send them snarky little letters.  If you are trying to get their attention and you have not yet caught a Federal case, it's still amateur hour...or maybe you are valuable to them...

It's when you start to have an impact on the flow of dollars that you will earn real interest.  Write a report that negatively impacts the stock value of a few Fortune 50 companies, and you will soon have a genuine understanding of the term Lawfare. 

You may also be schooled on Constructive Possession.

There are many lessons you may be taught.  Right Now.

You will learn inside baseball details about the US Code that will make you ill. 

The world begins to move very, very quickly. 

You will be faced with stark choices that have never entered your mind, because you think you understand the rules.

You do not understand the rules, until you have been inside the machine.

Then your options are put on the table: 2 years if you take the deal, or 20 if you fight...and we'll add a Conspiracy case for your little dog, too...

You will learn that the power of a US Attorney is crushing.

Do not make it easy to take you out of play, Patriot.

And, it is oh, so easy...if they ever decide to do it.

The choice is theirs...not yours.

Truth, Justice & the American Way?

Not so much.

The DOJ conviction rate is 95% in a bad year, and pushes above 98% according to some stats.  The deck is not only stacked in their favor, they own the deck.  And the card table.  And the casino.  Do you understand?

Can you name any Federal bureaucracy that runs at a minimum 95% efficiency rate?  What does that tell you?

Do not make the mistake of thinking that you intimidate them just because they have not yet chosen to come for you...

The Point: If you are trying to incite Big Brother to notice you, go for it!  But, man up and roll bigger dice.

If you would prefer to make your preparations for it with relative impunity, just go about your business and avoid taking actions that will make it easy for Them to take you out of play, and do not give them a reason to take you out of play.  Don't telegraph about the details of your preparations or defensive measures.  Don't put a pistol in your belt, against your local laws, unless you are willing to use it when LEO spots you in the convenience store.  Avoid gratuitous violence.

Do not draw hyperbolic lines in the sand.  When you draw lines in the sand that you do not defend, it reveals you for what you are deep in your Soul...and some of that bad energy splatters on us, too.

There will be plenty of opportunities for a fight, if you want one, soon enough.  Be smart, stay off the radar, so that any fight you engage will be on your terms.

What is a III Percent Patriot

Historians consider that about 3 percent of Americans took arms and challenged the King during the Revolution.

3 percent.  III Percent.  Threepers.


We exist today.

We are that percentage of Americans who have the tools and mettle of the Militiaman who stand and have drawn a hard line for the Hard Right of the political spectrum.

We are that cadre of American Patriots who refuse to yield further.  Our fathers and grandfathers permitted the insanity of Collectivism too much latitude, and it is we that History has called upon to set the republic back to her Constitutional principles.

The diseases of Liberalism and Collectivism are murdering the republic. 

We are simply Patriots who are finished passively backing up. We are Patriots who have decided to take action...and if you are an enemy to the Liberty of the republic, stand aside, shut your mouth, or face the consequences of trying to enslave a group of men and women who have no intention of accepting the chains.

The concept of the III Percent is a matter of historical fact and state of mind.  It is not a club or private group.  No Patriot need submit an application to any Leader seeking acceptance, and no entity may strip you of the III Percent title.

If you are an American who shares the ideals of that historic III Percent of Americans who took arms against the King and took to the field when we needed serious men and women who were willing to fight, kill and die for the ideal of Liberty, you are a III Percent Patriot.


Every single law on the books, ultimately, is enforced with the muzzle of a weapon.  It does not matter if the charge is failing to pay your property tax or jay walking, hosting a yard sale without a town permit, or murder, if you resist the punishment in any of these cases, Government will escalate until you yield or...the final step results
in the discharge of firearms. 
You forget this at your peril.

Get your head on straight, Patriot!

Following the counsel of idiots and hollow heroes regarding SHTF circumstances will get you dead...and if you can't tell the difference between serious men and hot-air machines, you're already half way to a mass grave.  Growling on blogs about how you will not yield one more inch, or one more of your gun rights, then letting LEO have your pistol during a traffic stop makes you a pathetic joke, not a Leader worthy of serious consideration. 

Hyperbolic proclamations about what you will do to any Alphabet Agency team making a dynamic entry to your home is hardly helpful to the Patriot cause.

If you draw a line in the sand, defend the damned line!  Do not whine and make excuses later about the better part of valor!  Your poor judgment (drawing the line) and cowardice (choosing not to defend it) colors us all.

Man up and think for yourself, or you are wasting perfectly good air, and feeding those who depend on your intellect and common sense false hope.

Current political leaders are only the face of the problem confronting America today.  The underlying cancer eating the American Soul is Liberalism.  But for your Liberal neighbors, Liberal politicians would never be elected to office.

It is not sufficient to simply defeat Liberal politicians at the polls.  Liberalism must be defeated in our society and Liberals must be marginalized, or this disease will kill the republic.

Every patriotic business owner should immediately fire every Liberal on staff and hire an employee who respects the nation and our Constitution.  Why should any business owner suffer an employee who will simply vote for politicians who further ruin the company?!

The Liberals in your community must be ostracized and denied entry into your social circle.  These stupid people are responsible for the insanity that affects everything from your property taxes to the curriculum taught to your children.  Why would you break bread with them, when they are the reason your bread costs too much?  Why would any parent permit them access to their children, when they are responsible for ruining your child's future?

If you consider yourself to be a Liberal or Progressive, go away. You are not permitted to buy this book. This book is written by patriotic Americans for patriotic Americans. This is a discussion among ourselves, and if you are a Liberal politician or you vote for Liberal politicians,
(Of the genus Stupidus Liberalis)  you are not invited to participate.

First, we will demonstrate that all politicians, judges, and government employees at the Local, State, and Federal levels who support federal Healthcare Reform, the Assault Weapons Ban, TARP, Stimulus I, Free Trade Agreements, PATRIOT Act, the new “Jobs” bill, or a host of other such Federal programs or initiatives, are guilty of Treason against the United States of America.

Secondly, businesses, multi-national corporations and special interest groups that support Liberal politicians and/or Liberal programs, Cap & Trade, Global Warming legislation, et cetera, are committing Treason against the United States of America.

Finally, we will demonstrate that those private Citizens who support or vote for any of these politicians—once the nature of the politician is known to the public—or programs are equally guilty of Treason by knowingly lending material aid and support to a Traitor.
